Reflection Room; Professional Supervision

Hi! I'm Kristen. Here to provide professional supervision that makes space for the real conversations — the challenges, growth, uncertainty, insight, and impact that comes with working in people-focused professions. I offer reflective, tailored supervision for social workers, counsellors, teachers, and helping professionals who want support that is thoughtful, grounded, and culturally responsive to what they need.

About Me

Where to start!? I love working in this space and am excited to have made supervision my primary venture alongside being a mum.Supervision has played a significant role throughout my social work journey, positively shaping both my practice and wellbeing. Through experiencing quality supervision myself, I came to appreciate just how valuable a supportive and reflective supervision space can be.I created this platform to support others in helping professions to make the most of supervision in meaningful ways. I believe good supervision creates opportunities for reflection, growth, challenge, connection, and sustainability, and I'm passionate about supporting others to discover where that process can take them professionally and personally. I also love all things Family Therapy and am looking to study further in this area soon.I'm a mum of two, Remy and Isla. Outside of work, I enjoy anything beachy and warm, getting outdoors with the dog, and spending time with friends and whānau—ideally over a good coffee!Professionally, I have over 10 years' experience in the child and family sector across schools, community services, leadership, and management roles. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of the challenges, responsibilities, and emotional demands that can come with supporting others in helping professions.I offer supervision sessions online or from my private rural space in South-East Auckland—a peaceful environment away from the busyness of everyday life and work. Many of my clients appreciate the opportunity to step away from the day-to-day pressures of their mahi, reflect, and reset.I look forward to supporting you on your professional journey.

Qualifications & more

I hold a Diploma in Professional Supervision from University of Auckland, including specialist study in creative supervision approaches. My supervision style is warm, reflective, and responsive — creating a space where people can think openly, feel supported, and can take a moment to pause and think about what they need to succeed.Throughout my career, I've worked alongside Māori tamariki, whānau, and community providers in a range of settings. These experiences have shaped both my practice and how I approach supervision.Honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi is important to me and is something I continue to reflect on and learn about in my work. For me, this means building genuine relationships, creating culturally safe spaces, being open to different ways of seeing and understanding the world, and recognising the ongoing impacts of colonisation for Māori, whānau, and communities across Aotearoa.I don't see this as a box to tick, but as an ongoing commitment to working respectfully, thoughtfully, and alongside people in ways that uphold their values, strengths, and lived experiences.I am registered through SWRB and ANZASW and am continuously attending and pursuing professional development opportunities.
